artificial intelligence has not been an unknown topic for some time now. we encounter ai every day in a wide variety of applications, be it as a smart assistant like siri or alexa, as an algorithm on social media or in smart home controls in our own home. artificial intelligence and its use affects everyone.
the aim of my bachelor's thesis was to examine and analyze artificial intelligence in its interface with the field of design in order to crystallize a meaningful workflow with this new tool in our digital world.
the result of this thesis was a book project, where the reader is confronted with five short stories on the subject of artificial intelligence and design and was intended as an example of the collaboration between a designer and artificial intelligence.
i used an ai image generator for inspiration and then used that to create the design digitally. i decided on the illustration style and structure of the book myself, the short stories were generated using ai language programs, which were then edited by me. with the help of the texts, ideas for the motifs of the illustrations were generated, which i then evaluated and selected.
the illustrations themselves were not generated, but were digitally drawn by myself. i decided and designed the layout of this book myself.
